Some individuals who have an attractive nose shape and may not be candidates for a rhinoplasty or have had a previous rhinoplasty can be candidates for a nasal narrowing or "alarplasty" procedure. This can correct enlarged or asymmetric nostrils. Individuals with nostrils that are wide or prominent but have otherwise attractive noses are great candidates. An an alarplasty is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that reduces the size and shape of the nostrils.
This surgery is performed by placing a nearly undetectable incision at the margin of the nose and then removing a wedge in order to alter the shape of the nostrils
Dr Mirmanesh removes a specific amount of tissue based on your individual anatomy. Once this tissue is removed, the incision is meticulously closed. This narrows the span of wide nostrils. Bone and cartilage are not manipulated with a nasal narrowing procedure.
