Fat transfer to the breasts takes fat from one part of the body and transplants it to volume-deficient areas of the breasts restoring youthful volume and improving self-confidence. This procedure is great for many women who wish to avoid having breast implants but still wish to improve the size and/or shape of their breasts. Fat transfer can also be used to help correct subtle breast asymmetry, animation deformity due to breast implants, and to a provide a smaller breast augmentation than what breast implants could provide. It is also helpful for those who wish to have their implants removed but want some volume enhancement.
The fat transfer procedure begins by harvesting fat from your donor site, usually the abdomen or thigh. The harvested fat is treated and transferred into small syringes. The fat is then placed into the areas needing volume using a very small instrument called a cannula. Small amounts of fat are transferred in a three dimensional fashion creating a natural appearance to the fat transfer area.
The increases in breast size with fat transfer tend to be more subtle. There is a limitation with how much fat can be transferred depending on how tight your breast tissue is and how much fat you have available for the procedure.
Dr. Mirmanesh tailors each breast fat grafting procedure to his patient. Therefore, each fat transfer patient receives injections into different areas of the breast. Depending on the final desired size, some women may require multiple sessions in order to achieve their ideal results. Dr. Mirmanesh determines how much fat should be injected and which areas of a fat grafting patient’s breasts should receive injections before treatment. He also dedicates significant time and resources to develop a fat grafting treatment plan that can deliver the best-possible results.
